What brought you to try CrossFit?

What were your thoughts after your first WOD?

If we keep doing this, we are gonna look SO good naked.

You are both long time members. What keeps you coming back?

It’s literally home. We love the atmosphere and the ability to bring kids, dogs, etc.

How has your motivation changed since you started CrossFit?

It continues to grow as our careers depend on being fit and ready for anything.



How have your fitness goals evolved since starting CrossFit? Do you have a new goal you are working toward?

We have slowed down on putting up the “big weight” and have now focused on just plain being fit.


 

What results have you already seen inside and outside the gym

Both of us are pushing 40, Alix quicker than me, and we can outperform most of the young firefighters on the fire grounds. Our kids see how health and fitness are important and tend to mimic our lifestyle.

What is your favorite CrossFit Movement?


Josh-Snatch, because it is the most technical movement there is.

Alix-Back squat so I can maintain my squat booty.


What is your least favorite CrossFit Movement?

Devil press, because they are stupid.

What is your favorite thing about CrossFit?

It's a cult. Have you heard we crossfit?

What is the number one tip you would give someone just starting CrossFit?

Stick with it. Don't worry about anyone but yourself. Create your own goals and figure out how your gonna achieve them.

What’s your number one tip for balancing a family, having a career and finding time to work out?

Incorporate it into your life. It's not a hobby, or something you do. It is something you are. Apply the concepts of CrossFit to all of your daily routines.


What’s it like working out together as a couple?


She hates me and will never take coaching advice.


What is your best CrossFit achievement?

Watching each other hit and surpass our goals.


What is your favorite memory at CrossFit Enclave so far?

We love the opens, when everyone is hitting PR’s they never thought they would hit. The energy is so high and you can tell the entire gym is a family supporting itself.

What is one piece of CrossFit equipment you swear by?

Chewing gum. WODs hurt more without it.

Do you have a favorite elite CrossFit Athlete (or other professional athlete) you follow or admire? Who & why?

Fran and Patrick. They are some of the most dedicated people in the gym. Always have a smile and give 100%. They are the first ones to welcome a new member.

How has CrossFit helped you professionally?

Crossfit does not let you quit. You write something on the board and you complete it as best and as fast as you can. This carries over to our study habits. We see assignments and tests as a new challenge. It’s not, I hope I do well……...It's preparing and working to do our best.
